i found this early last summer. both sides are mid tempo and the b side is also a duet. of course theres just about no info on either the singer or the label. i just happened to grow up in the area where the label was, so i drove by. i thought it might be an old warehouse as its an industrial area. when i got there it was just a small house, which looked like its seen the wrath of the failing neighborhood.
im not quite sure if this is the same eddie gilmer, but there is one who recorded a few cuts for starday records:
the robertson brothers and eddie gilmer- why do i cry/ poison love
the RG's (joe robertson, harold robertson, eddie gilmer) -take this picture/right or wrong
heres a little band that i somehow found 2 singles from in the same weekend from different places. i first thought maybe they were some what popular ,but have never seen anything by them since. these songs were recorded in Cambridge, Ohio for the AVC( audio visual creations) label.
i havent been able to find any information on the band, but the studio is still up and running. it has switched from producing music to doing something with video productions. i was really surprised that any sort of info showed up when i googled the label name!
well, not much new here. just tones of crappy yard work. however, i did come across a couple of new records and a pretty sweet super 8 film.
found these 2 sun 78's at a weird barn sale that had about 1500 lps. best part is....they were only 50 CENTS! both are johnny cash: i walk the line and folsom prison blues
this is a pretty cool looking record. they most likely gave these away with the magazine or had a coupon of some sort in the back ads.
i wish these super 8's were longer. i think theyre so cool. it even has peter cushing on the cover! another fine hammer film
so the other day erin and i went to an estate sale above a funeral home. some crazy stuff! nothing funeral related but some super cool monster stuff!
so super wild to find a rat fink mask and even crazier that we found the ( child size) matching costume! now if we could find the time to paint the hallway and turn it into out weirdo model/ halloween room we'd be in shape!
i managed to peddle some of my crappy drawings and photos into this here book! i think there's about 6 photos and 8 or 9 little drawings. most of the photos are from either cemeteries or the old abandoned Chippewa Amusement park that used to be here in Ohio. its mainly just a horror themed book, some poetry, photos, drawings, and all sorts of weird stuff!
heres a link to buy it if dig that sort of thing: https://www.createspace.com/3863520
i will also have some photos ive taken in a new book along with little creepy/dumb drawings i did above the chapter titles. it will be out in another week or two. ill post a link to buy soon!
got a coupla new drawings here. the first was just printed as a sticker for The Defenders of good times, and the second is just something i sent to them for fun. Lastly, a shotty attempt at the 60's topstone brand monster mask "The Shock Monster".

Ghost Rider
Shake It Up And Move Presents.....Thee One Man Band Deathmatch featuring: Wolfboy Slim, Subourbon Son, Shouting Thomas Torment, and Steve Trent! its gonna be all killer no filler,a non stop trash block!
This will the covers for the test pressings of the upcoming Phantom Maximus 7in on Onec Records! make you grab on cuz theyre gonna be pretty limited!
well, its been about a year and a half since i stared playing this ol' one man band. now i finally got a record out! yes, that's right kiddies...a real record. Its a split 45rpm with my pal Shouting Thomas Torment on the flip side. i drew the cover along with some help from photoshop on the text.
Heres a flyer i did for Eric Davidson of the New Bomb Turks for his upcoming book reading right here in cleveland!
something i threw together for an upcoming show in Pittsburgh in late July
Im also looking to do more flyers and stuff like that so if any body needs and thing of the sort shoot me a message
......About using staight razors. Does any one use these besides real barbers? Ive owned a couple but have always sold them or traded them for fireworks and other non sense. Now i need to find me a real cool one with lotsa western style to it....
Last Thursday i played on a show called "Live From Cleveland". Its a weekly show every Thursday from 10pm to 11pm. It features a variety of local and national bands. I played a full set and some some records afterwards. You can catch the show on 91.1 cleveland or stream it on WRUW.org .
I havent really found anything that ive been looking for lately. The only records ive been wanting are on foreign labels and the shops around here rarley get em.....so i had to resort to some ebay purchases as well as some local finds.
Hank Mizell-Jungle Rock some raw ol rockabilly stomper! only 50 cents!
Movie Star Junkies- Melville..... cool, kinda Nick Cave meets a bloozy version of the cramps, and more twangy at the same time?!
CockSparrer- Best of.....Cool double Lp on TAANG Records....has all the early hits
Johnny Paycheck -Country Soul....not as good as his other Little Darlin labeled records, but decent enuff. i think its mostly , if not all covers on here.
Little Jimmy Dickens- The Collection.....all the hits and more. I think hes the oldest living member of the Grand Ole Opry. ......and hes from West Virginia. That means ill like him more just for that reason.
