Happy Birthday to Me (1981)

Photobucket

To me this was a pretty awesome flick. It made a good impression by someone getting killed less than 5 minutes into the movie. The main character Ginny is recovering from a auto accident that happened a year prior to the story. She suffers from some sort of psychotic blackouts from the treatment she got while in the hospital. Supposedly cured she goes on a forgotten rampage the week before her 18th birthday.

She WAS one of the popular girls in her group of friends. Her memory slowly comes back with each gory murder she commits. She slowly remembers her past and has no recollection of the murders, till the very end.

There was plenty of good ol' bloody scenes. My favorite was the weight lifting scene, and maybe the romantic make out scene that ended up with a skewer down someones throat.

So enough of that non sense....heres some good ol' rock n roll!

The Ding Dongs (Norton) ....Cool new duet featuring Bloodshot Bill and Mark Sultan. A bunch of ragers and stompers. I dig the whole thing, but im leanin a bit towards the ones BB sings on!
Photobucket

Esquerita-You better believe me(Norton) .....not as good of stuff as on the Dew Drop Inn single. It does have a rad Little Richard interview on it!

Bobby "Boris" Picket- Monsers Holiday (Atlantic).....another monster smash by the original king of monster rock n roll.

New treats!

Savage Sally- 7in. on clear vinyl
cool lo-fo garage punk, with some intensely unpredictable vocals!
Photobucket

Link Wray live at the Paradiso LP
To me this is just ok. Its Link, so its cool. Some of it almost sounds like early British Punk stuff, and has a ton of covers. Its worth the 5 bucks i spent, but not too much more.
Photobucket

Haunted George- American Crow ( in the red records)
Just as creepy as usual, it sounds a little less lo-fi to me, but i still really dig it.
Photobucket

The Best of Wilson Picket
I guess this is self explanatory?
Photobucket

Tex Ritter- An American legend (4 lp box set)
Pretty much the definitive collection of this early country singer, he was also the host of the Town Hall Party t.v. show!
Photobucket

The Mummies- play their own records (estrus records)
Another awesome re-issue of the Mummies. Slammin out some swingin garage blasters and a couple of sleazy surfy instros on the B side.
Photobucket

The Arrows- Blues Theme 45
Erin found this for me, and i couldn't believe it! Davie Allen and the Arrows are one of my favorite surf/ instro bands. Plus they do the soundtracks to a lot of the awesome early biker flicks. Man this fuzzed out single is great!

Pick Me Up..... and some things i picked up!

Pick Me Up(2006)

Photobucket

This is another one of those Master of Horror Movies. Im not sure how i think about this series. Ive seen some that i thought sucked. Then others (like this) were awesome. The story is messed up from the beginning. A sort of turf war between serial killers.

Photobucket

A bus crashes in the middle of nowhere: One walks to a nearby hotel, some hitch a ride with a murderous trucker, and the others stay with the bus and get hacked up by a murderous hitch hiker.

Photobucket

Its almost a sick comedy of sorts. All the killers are hilarious in their own ways. It does have its fair share of gore so dont let me forget that part. The end is what really got me.....I woulda never guessed!

I also got these super snazzy slabs o wax!

This one was sent to me from a good pal. Its a hand made record by Peter King. He uses a home made lathe. Less than 50 in existence, theyre also square 8 in clear records! Whoa!

I won this one off ebay for 99 cents!

The Dead Hate The Living (1999)

Spoiler Alert!

Photobucket

A group of young film makers break into an abandoned sanitarium......well i wonder what happens? Of course, they're filming a zombie flick! Half way through their filming they stumble across a dead body, and decide to use it in their movie. From what i read online, the movie was filmed in 10 days. So i guess the fact that the acting and special effects were horrible arent too bad for the time that was actually put into it.

Photobucket

If you actually watch this keep an eye for the scene with the Zombies catching on fire and when they throw the TV at a zombie and it bursts into sparks! Now that is some awesome effects. I wonder if they were just hurrying through the movie or just didnt know how to do it any better. Anyways, enough bad mouthing this fine movie. It did have some awesome gore scenes and some real cool lookin creatures. They even had a zombie punchin right through someone, and a cool axe scene.

The best part is that no one survives....none of this happily ever after garbage!
