finally.....some new (and old) records

I havent really found anything that ive been looking for lately. The only records ive been wanting are on foreign labels and the shops around here rarley get em.....so i had to resort to some ebay purchases as well as some local finds.

Hank Mizell-Jungle Rock
some raw ol rockabilly stomper! only 50 cents!

Photobucket

Movie Star Junkies- Melville..... cool, kinda Nick Cave meets a bloozy version of the cramps, and more twangy at the same time?!

Photobucket

CockSparrer- Best of.....Cool double Lp on TAANG Records....has all the early hits

Photobucket

Johnny Paycheck -Country Soul....not as good as his other Little Darlin labeled records, but decent enuff. i think its mostly , if not all covers on here.

Photobucket

Little Jimmy Dickens- The Collection.....all the hits and more. I think hes the oldest living member of the Grand Ole Opry. ......and hes from West Virginia. That means ill like him more just for that reason.

The Sadist (1963)

The Sadist

Director: James Landis

Photobucket

The Sadist has been in my top 5 favorite movies of all time. Im mostly into horror but this one somehow creeped in. I dont know if its just that im a huge fan of Arch Hall JR.(both musically and as an actor).

Photobucket

Three people are on there way to a baseball game when they start to have car troubles. They soon come across a roadside junkyard. So they pull in to see about getting their car fixed....and thats where the real trouble begins.

Photobucket

Theyre soon greeted by Charlie and Judy, who take them hostage. The film is supposedly loosely based on the Charles Starkweather story. To me this movie always seems so cool. Its has a bit of a cheesy feeling, but its way better played out than most movies of its time. I think the acting really fits into what you would feel fits the personality of a psychopath. It really gives a good feeling of the late 50's.

Photobucket

Its way better than some of Arch Hall Jr's other flicks, like EEGAH!. I guess it could fit in with early horror, but passes better as a thriller.

cavernicola!

Los Peyotes- Cavernicola! (No Fun Records)

Photobucket

its just as rockin as all their other releases. to me this is some great straight forward caveman garage. not too much punk and not too sissy. plus they wear bones around their necks! Wish they'd come to the states and stop by cleveland.

CHUD (cannibalistic humanoid underground dwellers) 1984

A top secret underground urban waste dump is turning the local homeless people into mutant cannibals......

Ive debated every time i go to Best Buy whether i should pick this up or not. So today i went for it. Got home, popped that sucker in ,and....well....wasnt as cool as it seems. The idea of the movie rules and is right up my alley. I just dont think they pulled it off right.

Photobucket

There was some cool stuff...like these sweet lookin mutant things....some blood....guts....you know, all the good stuff! It wasnt too bad of a movie, just kinda hard to take Daniel Stern seriously.

Photobucket

I picked this up at My Minds Eye Records today. it was dirt cheap...20 smackaroos! I think its more than that on the Big Beat Records Website.

Photobucket

Its a set of five 7 in records: The Vibes, Meteors, Guana Batz, Stingrays, Bananamen, and the Milkshakes!

Happy Birthday to Me (1981)

Photobucket

To me this was a pretty awesome flick. It made a good impression by someone getting killed less than 5 minutes into the movie. The main character Ginny is recovering from a auto accident that happened a year prior to the story. She suffers from some sort of psychotic blackouts from the treatment she got while in the hospital. Supposedly cured she goes on a forgotten rampage the week before her 18th birthday.

She WAS one of the popular girls in her group of friends. Her memory slowly comes back with each gory murder she commits. She slowly remembers her past and has no recollection of the murders, till the very end.

There was plenty of good ol' bloody scenes. My favorite was the weight lifting scene, and maybe the romantic make out scene that ended up with a skewer down someones throat.

So enough of that non sense....heres some good ol' rock n roll!

The Ding Dongs (Norton) ....Cool new duet featuring Bloodshot Bill and Mark Sultan. A bunch of ragers and stompers. I dig the whole thing, but im leanin a bit towards the ones BB sings on!
Photobucket

Esquerita-You better believe me(Norton) .....not as good of stuff as on the Dew Drop Inn single. It does have a rad Little Richard interview on it!
Photobucket

Bobby "Boris" Picket- Monsers Holiday (Atlantic).....another monster smash by the original king of monster rock n roll.

Finally got all the dusty old intruments I need!

About a week ago some one donated a drum set to me. Up until now i have been using an old hard suitcase as a bass drum. I still think its a cool idea and all, but think it would be hard to mic. it. So now i got everything set up with it, and am thinking about booking some shows soon.

Photobucket

I was super bad last week and ordered a bunch of records i didn't need to order. I still haven't got some, probably because they're from the UK. Ive been wanting to order this for some time, but didn't want to spend 11 bucks on a cd. I finally gave in.......and it was definitely worth it!

Photobucket

I got this from The Brimstones! I was uber surprised with this. Theres vocals in every song. Its a big change from the other album i have. I really dig the Thunderbird logo.

Photobucket

New drawing i finished up yesterday, i kinda surprised myself with the jack-o-lantern. I kinda want it tattooed on me!
